His journey can beat any fairy-tale we have ever read. He is the living proof that one doesn’t need superpowers to become a savior and hero; skills, willpower and a lot of dedication along with practise can make one indispensible in moments of crisis. That’s who Mohammed Shami is for the Indian cricket team, a right arm fast-medium bowler on whom the team depends on to turn around an unfavourable situation and lead it to a win. His story could have been very different hadn’t his fast-bowler turned farmer father seen the spark in his son and encouraged him to pursue the sport. With time, Shami proved to be the stand-out and the most versatile performer in domestic cricket playing for our very own Bengal Ranji team and later Kolkata Knight Riders as well.
In the international arena, he holds multiple records including being the highest wicket taker of the tournament in 2015 World Cup.
Now you can listen to many more intriguing stories of this marvellous sportsman at the 4th episode of Dugout, where ex-cricketer and moderator Ranadeb Bose would engage in a conversation with Mohammed Shami and enjoy knowing about the world of cricket through his eyes.
