For the last 30 years Sankhamala has successfully brought out the collaborative side of the art of recitation and has showcased that theatre and poetry have many miles ahead of them to go hand in hand. On the occasion of the celebration of the 30th year of their journey on 11th July at Rabindra Sadan, Sankhamala will be presenting Ek Nirupomjatra, directed by Sumontro Sengupto and compiled by Koushik Roy Chowdhury that reflects on the bereavement caused by the demise of the six important influencers in Tagore’s life. Srikanta Acharya, Sraboni Sen, Ratna Mitra, Bratati Bandyopadhyay, Ranjana Sengupta and Sumantra Sengupta shall participate in this performance. The second performance ‘Jolosrot Kotha Koy’ is a theatrical depiction of the cultural history of Kolkata through the ages presented by forty members of Sonkhomala.
