Bengali devotional music has always been a lesser explored realm that has somewhat lost its significance in recent times. Practiced more as a seasonal specialty in the Puja days, this variety in the genre limits itself to the songs of Kamalakanta and Ramprosad. In an attempt to move away from that limitation, Srinivas Music presents ‘Kamandulur Gan’, devotional songs by eminent singer Snigdhodeb Sengupta that are absolutely contemporary and unparallel in their rendition on 8th November at Dr. Triguna Sen Auditorium of Jadavpur University, 6.00 pm onwards. After 18 long years Snigdhodeb Sengupta will be performing solo devotional songs that reconnect us with our spiritual senses. All these years he has been training under Debiranjan Bandyopadhyay and Anjan Majumder and he has also been awarded the ‘Radio Mirchi Music Bangla Samman’.
