Photowalk Besides Ganges Including Prinsep Ghat.

A popular spot in the city of Kolkata, Prinsep Ghat is one of the oldest recreational sites in Kolkata. The Ghat was named after James Prinsep, English scholar, orientalist and antiquary. He was the founding editor of the Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bengal and is best remembered for deciphering the Kharosthi and Brahmi scripts of ancient India.

The first hour will be spent understanding the following:

Meaning and types of photography

Types of cameras and lenses

The technical factors such as:
– Exposure (shutter speed, ISO, aperture)
– Depth of field
– White balance
– Image format
– Visual aesthetics
– Rules of composition.

For the first time, we shall conduct this popular walk in low light conditions in the evening so we can capture the beautiful sunset and the ever-beautiful James Prinsep Memorial as a background.

Practical – The next 90 minutes will be spent going around the place trying to shoot, thereby putting into practice the concepts discussed.

Review – The last half an hour will be utilized for looking at your photographs and critiquing, discussing things that work/do not work, problems faced and how to overcome them, etc. The experts will help you choose a long-term project that you could do based on your interests. They’ll be happy to review your photos over the internet in future.
