In the history of cricket, Habibul Bashar will be regarded as the best captain of the Bangladesh cricket team who ushered in significant-good times for the team and the country through his skills and leadership qualities. Particularly known for his game-changing ‘fifties’ in the year 2005, Bangladesh saw two groundbreaking wins against Zimbabwe and Australia under Bashar’s leadership and his contribution to the scoreboard as well.

After playing a long time in the international and domestic cricket arena of Bangladesh, he finally retired in 2009/10 becoming one of the three selectors of Bangladesh Cricket Board and the Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF in Bangladesh.
